Now that is one cute cat sleeping sandwiched inside a soft and fluffy bed!  These styles of cat beds are known as a hamburger bed due to their round two-piece structure that “sandwiches” the cat in the middle.  Cats love to sleep while curled or cuddled up against soft surfaces and this hamburger bed would provide ideal comfort to your cat and keep its body warm during those long winter nights.  Besides, they also look super adorable while sleeping with their faces or tails barely exposed!

The bed is made of Shu Velveteen material which helps keep the interior warm and doesn’t irritate your cat’s skin.  This bed is mainly designed to fit smaller cats with its dimensions at 18.11” x 13.78” x 10.24” (46 x 35 x 26 cm) and weights around 600g.  My female cat, Mia, fit in this bed easily back in December 2014 when I first got this bed (see the picture to the left) when she weighed about 6-7 pounds at that time.  As you can see in the photo, she could easily fit inside with a bit of extra space to spare.  After we spayed her in April the next year, she gained some weight to the tune of about 9 pounds and had some trouble fitting inside; it was still fun for her while it lasted!  So I’d say this bed is designed to accommodate a typical cat (or dog) that weights up to around 8 pounds (3.6 kg.)

Another cool thing about this hamburger bed is that you can detach and reattach the top cover.  If your pet doesn’t like being cramped inside, it is definitely an option worth exploring.  You could also remove the top cover and use it as a second bed although it doesn’t have the soft padding that the bottom portion has.  It can still work as a bed for, say, a kitten or a smaller cat.
